How to make an AI dance video of yourself

Guide · Updated 21 October 2026 · 5 min read

A step-by-step guide to turning one photo into a video of you doing a TikTok dance, with the photo and clip choices that decide whether it looks real.

You don’t need to dance, film or edit. You need one good photo and the dance you want to copy. This guide uses vtrends, but the photo and clip advice applies to any tool.

1. Pick the dance

The clip decides most of the result. Look for:

The trending dances and dance challenge pages show this week’s most-watched examples. Tap “Use this video” on any of them. Or paste a TikTok or Instagram link to a public post on the homepage.

2. Add your photo

3. Add an outfit (optional)

Without an outfit photo, you dance in what the original dancer wore. Add a photo of an outfit, on you or laid flat, and the model dresses you in it. If the clip has an outfit change, add a second outfit for after the change.

4. Render and download

Enter your email, choose $9 (small watermark) or $19 (no watermark), and pay. The render takes about 10 to 15 minutes and the page updates by itself. The finished video keeps the original sound, so it is ready to post. If the render fails, we rerun it or refund you.

Questions

Can I make an AI dance video for free?

Some template apps have watermarked free tiers. vtrends doesn’t; a video is $9 with a small watermark.

Do I need a full-body photo?

No. A clear face photo is enough. The model takes your build from the photo where it can and the motion from the clip.

Can I post the result on TikTok?

Yes. Download it and post as usual. TikTok asks you to label realistic AI content, so turn on its AI-generated label when you post.
